Cairnwell Sandstone has an aged finish. The aged finish has a heavy tumbled and worn finish achieving an aged and slight distressed look.
Free Length Format – tiles are supplied in fixed width and mixed lengths.
If fixing a Free Length pattern then joints should be staggered by a minimum of 100mm.
Lead time 2 to 3 weeks
When ordering include 10-15% for wastage and cuts.
Important Information about Cairnwell Sandstone
Sandstone is a natural sedimentary rock made from compacted sand grains bonded by minerals such as calcite, clay, or silica. During quarrying, the stone is split into varying thicknesses, which can create a naturally rustic surface.
The stone is mechanically smoothed, but some areas of the natural grain remain exposed to achieve its characteristic aged appearance. These natural fissures vary from piece to piece and may initially appear dusty white due to residual stone dust. A colour-enhancing finish is then applied to improve the appearance and help develop a natural patina over time.
Some customers may be concerned by the stone’s appearance upon delivery; however, as it is lived with and used, the stone gradually mellows and develops into a distinctive feature within the home. These natural characteristics can also be seen on our showroom floor.
