Products Chosen: Engineered Oak, Plank – Rothesay 190x14mm.  Large format Porcelain – Atli Taupe Porcelain 800x800mm. External Paving – Pure Grey Sandstone.

THE BRIEF

We have worked with Pat Renson and her team on a number of projects over the years, and it is always a pleasure to meet with her and her clients in our showroom. Pat’s brief was “To create a modern classic style home with hints of rustic finishes”. The client was looking for a cool, neutral look with an architectural edge, so as we explored our oak flooring and tile ranges together, we hand-picked products with this look in mind.

THE SOLUTION

Strathearn Stone & Timber were asked to supply and install oak flooring for the living room and family room, and to supply and install porcelain tiles for the new kitchen/dining, hallways, office, boot room/cloaks, laundry areas, along with the annex building too.

The choice of porcelain tile was an important one as it was going to be a main feature throughout this large home. Working with Pat, we guided the clients through our tile range and the perfect solution was found – our Atli Taupe Porcelain in an impressive 800x800mm size format. The client was particularly taken with this tile because of its tone and subtle surface texture. Pat loved it also, as it provided the ideal backdrop to show off the carefully chosen statement pieces of furniture, lighting and artwork.

For the living room and family room, Pat was looking for an oak that would complement the Atli Taupe Porcelain tile. The Rothesay Oak worked incredibly well tonally, not only with the porcelain tile but also with the soft furnishings Pat had already selected for the living room.

Our dedicated in-house team of oak flooring installers and tilers loved working on this project, as the installation went incredibly smoothly. The various teams we worked with on this project were not only brilliant at what they do, but excellent communicators too. We all had the same goal – delighting the client! It helped that the location is stunning too.
